Was skeptical at first if I really needed another blending, everywhere use brush, but once I received this and tried I fell in love. Can be used for everything or blush/powder uses. Didn't have any issues with shedding. Love the soft feel of the brush and love the long slick handle. Worth every penny.

Worst brush I have ever bought
Date:March 3, 2013
This brush is terrible. Every time I use it it leaves my face and my makeup full of bristles. At first I thought it might be mine that was defective, buy my mom bought the same one and she has the same problem. I also thought that it was just doing that because it was new, but I have had it for a couple of months now and I still have the same issues.... I have like 10 MAC brushes and they are all wonderful, I don't what happened with this one.

Must have changed manufacturer...
Date:February 3, 2013
Let me preface this with the fact that I've been an absolute MAC brush fanatic for a very long time. I recently purchased a backup 109 and am very disappointed with the the brush I received in comparison to my old 109 that I purchased several years ago. The new 109 has a much lighter handle, has rough bristles, is more square-ish than domed, the handle is a wee bit shorter, it has more fallout, and is not as full as the original 109. The old 109 is very plush, the new one isn't by a long shot. I am very disappointed and will be making my first MAC brush return.

I love this brush. I've been primarily using it for the application of the blush on the apples of my cheeks and the highlighting around my eyes. Just like every MAC brush, it's great quality. A great addition to my brush bag.

Perfection, everything you'd want in a contour brush. I've never had a problem with it shedding either, then again it is MAC, and none of their brushes do

I don't think I've used any other brush for cheeks after using this. A friend bought it for me as a gift bc I was lusting after it, and I instantly fell in love. It's perfect for contouring, highlighting, and blush no matter what your cheek size (I have big ones). Mine hasn't shed at all and stays in shape after cleaning. <3

Shedding can be minimized by shampooing and using a conditioner. Using brush very soft and loosely prevents bristled from shedding. Excellent for buffing in cream, liquid, or powder foundations, contouring and highlighting, and buffing out harsh edges from blush or bronzes.

Perfect brush for applying highlights and contouring the cheeks. I've heard a lot of people use it for applying liquid foundation but it doesnt work for me as well as the 130 does.

Pro-Kit Must Have!
Date:November 25, 2011
Tags: Contouring, hd airbrush makeup application
I love this brush! I mostly use this brush for contouring, however occasionally I use it to apply the Pro Peformance HD Airbrush Makeup (yes you can use this without an airbrush machine and it's still amazing) to get an airbrush finish w/o using an airbrush. I was happy to see I was not alone in doing so either after observing Fatima using the brush for the same purpose while teaching one of her awesome masterclasses. No matter what you use this for, I can't live without this in my kit! Holds it's shape after cleaning. Worth the investment, I have MAC brushes in my kit that I've had for 6+ years, they are worth every penny, so don't buy cheap brushes, buy MAC brushes...you won't regret.

dissapointed
Date:September 11, 2011
i got this brush today and it was so soft, i was so excited to use it. i like to wash and condition my brushes before i use them, and i've done it with all my other mac brushes and never had a problem. after i washed it, it dried and it didn't keep its shape, the bristles were sticking out? i was upset because this brush is so raved about. it shed too when i just rubbed it against my face. returning it tomorrow.
Love this brush!! I use this for blush, contouring, and highlighting! It fits right well in those areas the way I like it to be! Totally would repurchase another one again! Must-have item along with your other mac brushes!!

I bought this brush with super super high expectations so maybe that's why I was a little let down :(. This brush is amazing for contouring and blush. I bought it for it's legacy with creme and liquid foundations. Unfortunately it sheds like no other :(

Tags: All over application, i just bought
I just bought this brush and used it for the first time today! I absolutely loved it! I used it with my cream liquid foundation and it made my make-up and skin look flawless! It buffs the make-up right into the skin without having those brush lines that you typically get with those "paint brush" type foundation brushes! It's a lot better than using your fingers and it makes the foundation go a long way so you don't need to use much.

This brush is spectacular! A MUST for anyone's kit. A multipurpose brush. I use it for contouring, blush, powder, cream and liquid foundation. The finish is seamless. It blends powder like a dream and buffs foundation into the skin beautifully. It's so soft, my clients purr when I use this on them. You will definitely not regret buying this. It won't be long before you want to buy another one for your kit.

Great brush for CONTOURING & HIGHLIGHTING
Date:October 20, 2010
Tags: Contouring, Highlighting
This brush is great for contouring. Whenever I need to contour, this brush is the FIRST brush I pick up all the time. It's small enough to make contouring look so natural and flawless. I don't like using this brush to blend though. I'd rather use a denser/stiffer brush for that. I use this brush mainly to contour and highlight. It's great for those small to reach areas like the nose. I love it! It's definitely a brush that you want in your collection. As for the highlighting, it's awesome for that too, especially the cheekbones. It's small enough to apply the color in the specific area where you want it. I love this brush, hands down!!!

109 small contour brush
Date:September 25, 2010

I bought this brush because I heard good things about it but I ended up being very disappointed with the quality of this brush considering that I paid $32 for it. This brush sheds like crazy!! It applies liquid foundation nicely but each time I use it I end up having to pick off at least 10 bristles off my face. It very annoying. Definitely would not recommend buying this brush unless you don't mind constantly picking bristles off your face.

Perfect versatile brush

I absolutely adore this brush. It is my go-to brush for buffing on foundations (any type!), or when I want a more intense, doll-like, fresh cheek. It is firm, dense, and only slightly domed, which makes it perfect for buffing.
