SHEDS LIKE A DOG IN SUMMER

The bristles of this brush are as soft as hairs plucked from the tail of a baby unicorn, but it also sheds like dog in summer. I exchanged my first on after several weeks of having to remove bristles from my face and received a second that sheds almost as badly. If this brush didn't shed, it would be marvelous, but it most definitely does.

I have to say that when it comes to buying things I do my research and I am very picky in buying things especially a 40 dollar brush. I just recieved the item and noticed the brush was shedding. I did get upset because it was brand new and was already shedding but I decided to keep it and when I applied my foundation MY GOD I LOVED IT!!!!!! SERIOUSLY FELL IN LOVE! there was still pieces of the brush from shedding while applying my foundation but seriously I would recommend 100%!

I was recommended this at a MAC store while looking for a brush that blends liquid/cream foundation well. I originally had the 191 brush, which is a good brush, but only if you're really good at blending. It does normally leave one or two bristles on my face, but it's not too bothersome. It's a little pricey... but if this is the kind of brush you're looking for, it's worth it.

Unfortunately for me I found that using this brush to blend in my moisturizer tended to pull out the bristles so I am less than impressed by the recommendation to use a brush on moisturizer. Other than that, it is great for blending powder foundation.

This is the most impressive brush I have ever used in the fact that it does exactly what it promises. Depending on how you use it, you can use it for a lightweight application or a heavier application for more coverage. Either way, it creates a flawless airbrushed appearance which I finish off with the 190 foundation brush. I haven't used it with powder, but I'm sure it works great with both. I would definitely recommend this to everyone!!

Soft applicator for foundation

Lovely soft brush. I use it for stipple application of Studio Tech. With this brush, my foundation goes on smoothly, but not heavily. All good! I've tried sponge (soaks up too much product), my fingers, and just about any other method, and this works best. I don't waste product by washing it down the sink, or soaking into an applicator, and my foundation isn't thick or heavy. Naturally, YMMV.

Such a beautiful brush. Picks up colour lightly and produces a seamless finish. I use it for blush and this brush blends the colour in with bronzer and highlight effortlessly. Love love love. It shed a couple bristles on the first wash but nothing problematic.

I use liquid foundation and used to put it on with a regular foundation brush. I would usually apply my foundation with the brush and then blend with a sponge. Afterwards, my makeup always looked really caked into my pores and I HATED it. I thought this would be a great brush to use so that I could eliminate the sponge to use only one tool to apply my makeup. This brush is simply fantastic!! I like a full coverage without looking like I have a ton of makeup on. This brush really does give you an airbrushed look and blends into the hairline and neckline flawlessly! My mother commented one day on how great my makeup looked and asked me if I had changed my foundation. I told her no, that I had only used a different applicator--the MAC 187. She said my makeup had never looked so good and wanted me to order one for her. I did and she also loves it. She is 55. I definitely recommend this brush. It's a great buy and worth the money!!

I initially got the 187 brush to apply foundation. I had the first brush about 1.5yrs when one day the hair came right off the ferrule (silver part of the brush). I take good care of my makeup tools, so I contacted MAC corporate with my problem and they sent me a postage paid envelope to send them back the damaged 187 so they can check quality control. MAC then sent me a brand new 187. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE as always.
I no longer use the 187 for foundation as I have transitioned to the awesomeness that is the beauty blender sponge. However, I still love my 187 for mineralize skin finish blushes and shimmer powders as well as to apply pressed or mineral powders. Its a great brush for blending out all your makeup for that flawless look.

I have very sensative skin, so I was looking for a larger foundation brush that would apply my Select SPF lightly and without pounding it into my skin. This brush is a life changer. It's an airbrush finish. Best brush I've ever purchased. I hope it sticks around forever!

I love love love this brush! Helps stretch my foundation and the application is easy. Gives a beautiful, even and flawless application of foundation. I strictly use this brush for foundation application, so can't speak for other application uses. Well worth the money. Brush will last...use MAC brush cleaner to help keep it looking great and clean. Don't use cheap foundation brushes, especially if your using MAC products--spend the money and get this brush..will give you best results. Using MAC and having a cheap brush will not give you best results.

You can do almost everything with this brush, the bristles and shape help me apply the foundation flawlessly, i use it every time...i use it for application, blending and buffing...it gives a sort of air-brushed and polished look to the face...Just love it...and the quality is amazing...LOVE YOU MAC :)

i use this brush with MAC matchmaker foundation. It's great for flawless layering and touch ups. Doesn't make my primer flake like tougher brushes do. I like the size because some hairs pick up the foundation while the others help buff. A smaller one would probably get heavy too soon and would waste the foundation. Haven't used it for other applications and i will probably keep it that way. Very little to no shedding at every wash and dries quickly.
It did not work well with the lustre drops. I think it's because of the thicker consistency. It sort of just stays on the hairs and cakes on. Each tool has its purpose!

The best all purpose brush out there. Works with liquid and cream foundations, blushes, and bronzers, as well as all powders. Great for buffing in products so they are invisible on the skin.

I use this brush with the Studio Fix Compact Foundation. Fantastic! I have sensitive and mild acne pro skin, so I need something that allows for LIGHT application. It's hard to find brush that doesn't pound product into my pores, but still allows for full coverage. Highly recommended. Worth every penny!

Love this brush. Was immediately struck by how soft it is. I have never used a brush before for application of my foundation and this was a wonderful brush to begin with. Soft and easy to handle, gives wonderful blending ability. Will definitely recommend this brush to friends and family.

Although I've used the 190 Foundation Brush, I decided I wanted a more air-brushed, natural look. This brush came highly recommended and it is an absolute must to any brush collection! Like others, this is my Holy Grail, go-to brush when applying HD liquid foundation. My skin looks flawless! I get compliments on my beautiful skin, which is the whole point. You're not supposed to look as if you're wearing makeup at all. When someone compliments you on your makeup, then you're wearing too much. A great buy!
