I am so happy that I FINALLY found the combination that is going to work for my oily skin. If you have oily skin you MUST try this because it is going to change your life and how you do your make-up! I promise! I currently use the OIL CONTROL LOTION FIRST, THEN I FOLLOW IT WITH THIS. I also use MAC Matte, but it is not totally necessary to use it as well. It is another GREAT MAC product. Now, I will say that once you apply this, you have to be quick because it may give you a "dry" effect/affect because there is no oil on your skin. However, It is worth the end result. If it is too dry for you, I recommend using the Studio Fix Moisturizer, then the Oil Control Lotion, and THEN this. The SFM will give you a little moisture and make your foundation application easier. I am now VERY satisfied with my make-up routine. I finally found something that works.It will leave you kinda Matte too, but you don't want to look ashy. If this is a problem, follow with the Sudio Fix + spray to finalize your application and that should do the trick! HIGHLY recommended!!

This is an awesome product. An hour after applying my Studio Fix face and body foundation or any foundation my nose becomes very oily (looks like a disco ball) and just appears unfinished. I visited the MAC counter to purchase primer and the MAC artist suggested that I try this product. Even though I already had foundation on she advised that I could put it on top of it. I only needed a very small amount because a lot goes a very long way. My foundation didn't rub off and before I could rub all of the product in, the shine was gone and stayed away for the rest of the night. Totally sold on this product. Definitely a must have for any makeup bag.

I love this primer in combination with oil control lotion from MAC and studio fix fluid!!! Really helped combat my oil skin... I use this all over because I have insanely oily skin.... usually makeup cakes up and gets oily after 2 hours this helps me for at least 4 hours if not longer and i just touch up a little with the blot powder.
I am buying a second tube of this hands down! :)

I thought this product was going to be my solution to most of my problems: oily t-zone, big pores on my nose, dry patchy parts on my face, and the need for longwear in my foundation. I did none of these. My pores are actually more defined than ever, the dry patchy parts are more visible, and as far as I can tell it's made little to no difference in how long my foundation has remained intact. I talked to an online consultant and she said that this product is drier than some of the other primers. She suggested the Prep + Prime Skin. The consultant said that I may be able to return this product in exchange for the P+P Skin, fingers crossed!

My t-zone was ridiculously oily for as long as I can remember. I've tried lots of different lotions. I've tried blotting paper. I've tried applying more powder halfway through the day. NOTHING has worked liked this product. It is now a staple in my daily makeup routine. Just a forewarning, a little bit of oil may start to show, but its hardly noticeable.
If you struggle with oil, this product is definitely for you!!

I have extreme combination skin. Very oily and dry and flaky in spots. This primer kept my face matte and the oil away; however, it made my Skin Fix foundation hard to put on. It would dry before I could blend it. I tried using less and mixing with moisturizer but got the same results. Just didn't work for me.

This product was suggested to me by email through the "Ask an Artist" (I love that feature!) because I'm forever in search of a solution to my grease-laden skin. I give this three boxes because it works--but it doesn't give me a "long-lasting natural matte finish," nor do I see how evidence of it cloaking pores, etc. The description over-promises, in my experience. Also, it seems way too expensive for half an ounce! I'm willing to pay for something that works amazingly well, but this is not the case. However, it does help keep oil at bay as opposed to when I don't use it under my make-up, so I'll keep using it till I find a better solution. Perhaps it may work for someone without super-oily skin.

I have very oily & sensitive skin, and I have to be extremely cautious of the products I use on my face. Because my pores get clogged easily, I must only use water-based and oil-free products to avoid breakouts. This primer is absolutely WONDERFUL for oily and sensitive skin! Not only does it allow makeup to last longer, it does a great job of controlling oil and it lasts all day! I use powder foundation and it works as a good base. I'm very satisfied with this primer. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because of the consistency of this product - It is a slightly sticky/tacky like texture, but nonetheless, it still works wonderfully! If made to have a more silky texture instead, it would be phenomenal!!

This tiny tube of pricey stuff works great -- worth the money. I have very oily skin, especially on my t-zone. I only put it on my t-zone, and then light moisturizer on top of that and it keeps my skin from being shiny.

I have searched for a long time for a product that would control my oily skin, I have tried a few MAC products, like the Oil Control Lotion and the Matte products and this product this the best. It provides a lasting matte finish and I can even go without makeup if I want. Try it!!

I love this product. I am no longer shiny like Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer... Thank you Joe for introducing me to this product. It just absorbs the make up you already have on. No need to use blot powder.

I love this product.... my only concen is the tub that it comes in. You will end up wasting alot before you know it. I recently looked at the top of the tub and noticed a few of much needed applications all dried up while the top was secure on the tub. Perhaps it's the design. I'm not sure, however the product is good but I wish they would change the tub and make a larger size!

I love this stuff, gets rid of shine completely. the downside though is the packaging, MAC needs to make a bigger size this is way too small for that price and I buy at least 3 a month. PLEASE MAKE A BIGGER SIZE.

I have a very oily t-zone and this goes on smooth and looks very matte, but after a few hours I need to blot and put on powder. I was hoping by the reviews this would work for me. I will keep using until I find better, which I am always looking for.

My skin was a grease pit by the middle of the day and I had to constantly blot my face throughout the day. It was horrible. So......I purchased this and the first day that I used it I couldn't believe how smooth and normal my skin looked. It's truly amazing. It also has cleared up my acne too! My face feels as soft as a baby's behind. Lol oh....btw, I have nevr had to blot my face with powder ever since!!!!!!!

I have extremely oily skin with large pores and I went to my MAC store to purchase a different primer. I used to use the PREP+PRIME SKIN from MAC and I loved it for awhile but then I noticed it really didn't help with my oily skin or helping my makeup stay on longer. The lady recommended this, and I am EXTREMELY happy she did! My pores are much, much, much smaller and my oil throughout the day is definitely diminished! I will NEVER go back to another primer...This stuff is worth every penny. My skin is thanking me for it too! My acne is gone because the oil has left! Definitely try it!

I bought this primer because of the good reviews I read for it. It definitely works to control oil and shine on my face, but I don't feel like it does anything to make my pores look any smaller. The pores around my nose still look pretty large. I have only used it alone and have yet to try it under foundation so I'm not sure how well it works for that.

When I bought this product I was skeptical because my skin is super oily. I've tried other products in the past that were ok but this one takes the cake :-) I use it on my clients and recently started using it on myself. My skin was matte, smooth, and velvety instantly with no visible pores. I applied 8 hours ago and still matte and shine free! Also the studio fix goes on flawlessly ontop of this. I'd just like to see the container come in a bigger size, at least 3 oz. Packaging is way too small for the price . For those who are unfamiliar with the size I would say its about the size of a thumb unfoutunately. But I pretty much get away with a dime size amount....This could also be worn alone just to give skin a nice matte look.

I'm a 30-something Mexican female with the oiliest skin ever. This is the answer to my oily skin problem! Just a little dot on the T-zone and I was shine-free ALL DAY!! Before, even with powder I looked like someone smacked me with a pork chop but this leaves my face perfectly matte. No need for anything else to take away the shine. This is a keeper!!

i've tried many primers and pore/oil control products... some failed miserably and some helped to an extent, but my super oily skin usually took over by lunchtime, even with these expensive products. So far today i've had my makeup on 8 hours- very minimal oil (but not dry either), and my makeup has stayed put, without touching up. my face/ makeup has never looked better, and i am one THRILLED customer!
