I bought this brush years ago at the suggestion of a friend who wore paints and pigments as much as I did, and it is still one of my fave brushes for eye makeup application and blending. It is a stiff enough to easily apply paints and pigments but soft enough for blending and everyday eyeshadow application. A must have brush for any MAC lover.

Splayed bristles

I am on the fence. Maybe I received a dud but the brush lost it's shape after I cleaned it and it has splayed bristles. Does not look oval and the bristles have bent. I would like to return to see if it is the brush or the brand.

Who hasn't heard about the MAC 217 brush! It is an awesome brush. Super soft! It perfectly blends my powder eye shadows. It is worth to spend twenty-three dollars. I recommend this brush for beginners to experts. It's a must have brush in your makeup kit! If you need a blending brush; this is it!

Great for crease

I purchased this brush recently. I am pleased with it so far; I use it for blending eye shadow into the crease area. I know a lot of people go back and forth between whether to get this one or the 224 for blending, but from what I read, this one is a bit stiffer an great for precise application, blending and for use on smaller eyes.

First time to try the 217 brush, I love it! It is by far the best eye shadow brush I have ever used. I have been wearing make-up for lot of year's, I'm 65, using this brush is the best brush I have ever used applying my eye shadow. I plan to buy more just to have extra's to use with different colors. I used this brush applying 3 colors, I would clean it on a towel by lightly swiveling if on the towel and moving it softly back and forth, it cleaned the color off really good to move on to my next color, even the carbon ( black) cleaned off easy this way. I would like an extra brush just to use with the darker color eye shadow's. I highly recommend trying this brush, you won't be sorry.

If you are to purchase any brush to apply eye shadow, this is the best brush! This was the first MAC brush I purchased years ago and wouldn't trade it for anything. You need one of these brushes!

This is the best brush I have ever used, it's makes applying your makeup that much better. Easy to blend with to create an amazing look. This brush is awesome to use for applying concealer as well!

I needed a good brush for my crease and to blend my eyeshadow. I have been using another brand of brushes , but honestly NOTHING can compare to MAC brushes! I have been using them recently and I am enjoying applying my make-up again. I get excited to think about wearing my eyeshadow because I know this brush is going to make it perfect! If you are looking for a great brush to BLEND your eyeshadow, THIS IS IT!! If you are looking for a brush to put just the right amount of shadow and just the right size for putting shadow in the crease, THIS IS IT! BUY it, you will be glad you did!!

This brush not only blends to a smooth even toned finish but it is the best way Ive seen eye shadow applied. I wear glasses with a tint to block out the sun and other eye shadow applications got lost in pigmentation. Not so when I applied eye shadow with this beauty. This brush does all mac says it does and bottom line Great Buy!
