Goes on so smooth with practically no effort, the color vine compliments so many of my lipsticks, so I will probably stock up on a couple more incase I run out. It stays on for a long time too, almost 4 hours.

I have thin lips and tend to wear red lipstick quite often when I am out so I need to really define my lips. This liner is a perfect partner for my matte lipstick and leaves a nice clean line while reducing the need for concealer around the lips. Instead of using with lipstick, you can line and fill the lips, then add a clear gloss over the top to create a stained lip look. For a color that really matches your lipstick or skin tone, get matched at the counter and have them test it on your skin.

These pencils are truly a staple of mine, regardless the color.
I used the department store pencils once before and never used them there after because they were always so hard and dry on my lips. MAC pencils go on smoother and evenly. I'd recommend!

I have subculture and spice. Subculture BARELY shows up, I wouldn't repurchase but it goes good with the nude lip or with any pink lipstick. Spice I am in love with! I even wear it on it's own or just line my lips and go. I blend it in of course but I love the color. Can go with a dark nude lip or brown lipstick. I wouldn't go red, that's for sure. I would probably repurchase the spice if I don't find a dupe.

I have been using my Cherry lip liner to touch up my M.A.C Red lipstick and i use the Auburn to play with the coloring a little.... i love these colors!

These Lip pencils are the best......I have MANY of them but my all time favorite is "Auburn", I use it with all color lipsticks - it;s versatile and just a great all time color. I have been using MAC Products for close to 20 yrs now and can say they are the best!

My favorite lip pencil that I have in my collection is whirl. It goes with most of my lipsticks, (Mac or not), and works perfectly by itself. It is a nice brownish pink and will work with plummy lipsticks (My favorite is 'Plumful') all the way to neutral lipsticks. (I love it with Brave and Fast Play). A great gloss to also go along with it is 'C-Thru'. It is possibly one of the most versatile lip liners out there, and it is also long lasting. The only downside that I have is that it is not as creamy as they claim to be. When I go to put it on it takes a few times before it is warmed up enough to go on your lips.

There are many MAC lip pencils that deserve recognition on this site, but I have to speak on the Cherry lip liner. Cherry is a very versatile red pencil that can be used with just about all the MAC red colored lipsticks. Being a red lipstick hound, I have tried just about every red lipstick and red lip liner pencil combination there is. I always come back to Cherry. I forgot my lipstick in another purse one time and used my Cherry lip pencil to cover my entire lip area and almost every woman in the room wanted to know what brand/shade of red lipstick was I wearing. They were shocked to know that a lip liner pencil packed that much of a punch in color payoff. If you love the classic red lips like I do, get a Cherry lip pencil to help make your lips pop!

Just My Type is deeper than chestnut and similar in color payoff to Nightmoth, but more brown. I use this liner with Film Noir lipstick.

I only use Odyssey lipstick and Currant lip liner matches it perfectly. I'm a stickler for lipstick and liner to match as closely as possible. There are many good lipliners at dept stores and MAC certainly ranks among them. I choose MAC, though, because I use all of the products except for my eyebrows.
