This brush is great for putting on whatever primer I am using on my eyes. This makes the primer go on evenly. I have medium length nails so I don't really like to put products on my face with my fingers. Using this brush helps me to spread out whatever eye product I am using evenly. I also use it for my Prime Vibrancy Eye and it does a GREAT job! Make-up brushes are essential to me! If you don't have this brush, you will be OK, but if you are like me, I want ALL of them! LOL. I only have about 3 more to go and I will have all of the brushes. I LOVE MAC!! :-)
I was introduced to this brush during an instore event. My rep applied a paint pot to my eyelid and I was "in love". The application was very smooth and evenly applied! I had her apply it twice just to be sure. i purchased the brush that day and since then it's the only brush I reach for when applying products like the paint pots and lid colors. The bristles are stiff enough for smooth coverage without being to rough on my eyelid. The coverage is perfect every time. I went back later and bought two more!!!

Great for applying liquid and cream concealers around the face, setting them with powder, applying cream eye shadows, and applying powder eye shadows.

Perfect for cream or powder and its awesome for concealed too! Such an amazing multi purpose brush I don't know what I'd do without it. Lol.

My Everyday Eyeshadow Brush

I wear eyeshadow every day of the week, and this brush is the 1st one I reach for when starting the job. I pat my base/lid shadow all over my lower lid with this brush, and it never, ever sits down on the job. I get nothing less than perfect results with this brush, and I now own 2 of these. This applies cream eyeshadows as well as it does powder shadows. I really don't know what I would do without this brush...

Great for one purpose

I use this brush to apply my Painterly Paint Pot as a concealer before I apply eyeshadow. Since the paint pots are thick, I think a stiffer brush like this one is ideal for applying them. On top of being stiff, it's also flat which is great for smoothing out the color all over my eye.

This brush is good for blending but not for overall color. It is very soft but doesn't pick up shadows well. If you are looking for a high pigmentation brush, I would not recommend this one. Good for blending and crease, though.

This brush came in a holiday brush set I bought last year and I find myself rarely using it. It's ok when placing color onto the lid in a patting motion but the bristles are way too stiff and actually hurt your lid if you try to blend with it. I've cleaned and conditioned it but nothing helps. This one is a toughy.

All-over shadow application...

This brush is useful for applying one color of shadow to the entire lid, the lid area beneath the brow highlight, or beneath the crease. Its firm bristles allow it to pick up a sufficient quantity of powder product and distribute it in an even fashion to the lid. The same effect can be achieved with the 217 Blending Brush. Not an "essential" brush, but would be nice to have for someone looking to expand their brush collection or a for a make-up artist.
